Humantarian Response
SOS CV Ethiopia has been working to respond to life-saving needs of communities affected by human-made and natural disasters. People affected by drought, flood, and conflicts have been supported through multi-sectorial humanitarian response projects addressing their emergency food, nutrition, WASH, health, education, shelter, NFI, protection, and MHPSS needs. SOS has implemented ER projects in the regions of Tigray, Amhara, Oromia, Harari, and Somali.
The total budget utilized between the years 2021-2022 is over 6 million Euros. Currently, HRP is implementing seven different projects, with a total budget of 5.9 million Euros. The department aims to expand its work through conducting emergency assistance needs assessments, proposal development, fund sourcing, and establishing partnerships with other like-minded implementing agencies. While striving to address the multi-sectorial needs of communities, SOS would want to have specialization in the sectors of child protection and MHPSS.
SOS strives to continue quality improvement of its ER activities and become a major contributor to national humanitarian response mechanisms, both in terms of physical resource and in knowledge and information management in the sector.
