Child Protection Policy

Our child and youth safeguarding prevention activities primarily focus on preventing and mitigating possible child and youth safeguarding risks to children and young people supported by SOS Children’s Villages programmes. This includes many different activities relating to other areas of work such as human resources management ( i.e. recruitment process), and care quality development (i.e. Positive Parenting). It is important to have a common understanding of where these activities are anchored and implemented.

  • Child and youth safeguarding activities are strongly anchored in the day-to-day work of programme co-workers in family-like care, family strengthening, education and health programmes.
  • Follow the safe recruitment procedure: - making police checks as part of the recruitment process, and incorporating child and youth safeguarding into employment contracts.
  • Promote the protection of each child’s privacy towards all co-workers in this area of work.
